UPSC Civil services 2012 Sheena Aggrawal Interview

This year in UPSC Civil Services Exam Result the top two spots have gone to women candidates. Shena Aggarwal, graduate from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) became the topper. Shena is from Yamuna Nagar , Haryana and she cleared the UPSC Civil Services exam in her third attempt.

• In year 2011-12  approx 4,72,290 candidates was applied for this UPSC Civil Servises Examination, out of which 2,43,003  candidates appeared for the written test.
• Rukmani Riar, a Master of Arts (Social Entrepreneurship) from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, has got second rank.
• While the third position is bagged by Prince Dhawan, who had done Master of Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.

The top 25 candidates include alumni from some of the premier educational institutions of the country, including AIIMS, IIM and IITs. "An alumnus of London School of Economics also figures in the top 25.

Although it's a common understanding that you need to attend coaching institute  to crack the Ias.Even then it is hard to qualify  in the first attempt.Faisal shah broke all UPSC myths a few years back getting First Rank,No coaching.

Shah Faisal dreamed big. In a state where few go in for civil services, the 27-year-old put his medical career on hold to appear for the examination. Today, as the results came in, his name was at the top — a giant leap for a boy from a government school in a remote village, whose father was killed by militants, and a big, big step for Kashmir.
